Danielle Lee

Danielle is currently a senior at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California. She is majoring in Global Health with minors in Natural Sciences and International Relations. With a grant from the USC Institute for Global Health, she led a program in Maputo, Mozambique, with AMF’s partner, Reencontro, in the summer of 2014. Working with Olinda Mugabe, the founder of Reencontro, and project coordinators, she implemented a health education program for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. She also worked at Maputo Central Hospital learning about prevalent health issues from physicians and nurses. Her summer in Mozambique was eye-opening and humbling. The experience motivated her to pursue medicine in the future as a physician, and she hopes to return to Maputo in the future as a medical professional.
